A tech support firm in Cape Town is seeking a Hardware Support Consultant responsible for installing and supporting hardware, providing client training, and troubleshooting IT issues. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance of IT infrastructure and assist in client satisfaction through effective support and training sessions.

Main purpose of the Job:
Responsible for installing and supporting Donkerhoek Data hardware, assists with maintenance and installations of computers, printers and networks and related software products to clients.
Duties and Responsiblities:
Hardware & Software support:
First and second line support on all Donkerhoek Data hardware, as well as related software. This includes fault finding and solving of problems that clients are experiencing.
Manage the following up of clients dealt with on support issues.
Assist support consultants / agents in any hardware related queries that they need assistance with.
Testing: Assist with testing of Donkerhoek Data hardware and related software.
Hardware installations:
Installations of Donkerhoek Data hardware and software products and related admin e.g. Licences, parameters etc.
Checking of shortcuts, network links and printers used by relevant hardware and software.
Installations on site, thus travelling is often necessary.
Preparation of installation package for new installations (manuals, testing of readers etc)
Arranging site survey and installation dates with clients.
Arranging dates with clients with regards to call outs.
Following up of clients for the first month after initial installation to ensure that they are satisfied.
Checking setups of new client.
IT:
Install and configure computer systems, hardware, software, printers, and peripherals.
Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure for optimal performance.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and network issues efficiently.
Implement security measures to safeguard company data.
Perform routine system maintenance and upgrades.
Provide technical support to clients and internal teams.
Familiarity with cybersecurity principals
Training:
Individual training of clients.
Presenting training classes for a group of clients. Includes setting up PCs, co-ordinating
necessary refreshments and printing manuals.
Presenting hardware training on all readers (and how it relates to our software) to all support
consultants including agents.
