Our client is seeking an Intermediate / Senior Java Developer to join their dynamic team in a hybrid capacity based in Lynnwood Manor Pretoria. Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance Java‑based applications and services across complex systems.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, efficient and secure software solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve production issues while ensuring system stability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver projects on time and to specification.
• Mentor Junior Developers and provide technical guidance on best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and quality assurance processes to maintain high coding standards.
• Support the integration of applications with databases, APIs and third‑party systems.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline management and automation using Bamboo or similar tools.
• Optimize PostgreSQL databases and maintain Linux‑based application environments.

Requirements

• 57 years experience in software development with Java and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript (Angular and TypeScript), HTML & CSS.
• Experience with WildFly, Bamboo and Linux environments.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects and resolving production issues.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.

Skills & Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with back‑end and front‑end frameworks including Angular.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and database optimisation techniques.
• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and general computing fundamentals.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
