PRIMARY PURPOSE
Accountable for managing Finance for Personal and Business Banking, including finance strategy, business finance, financial control, business performance, financial planning, and analysis. This role involves developing a financial and operational strategy, long-term strategic planning for the business, and creating business cases for new initiatives. The role manages staff with both national and regional reporting responsibilities and is part of the senior management team of retail and business banking. Setting the strategy in collaboration with the executive member for personal and business banking is key.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
FINANCE
Strategic Finance
- Oversee the process for business cases within customer solutions for new initiatives.
- Oversee pricing models within customer solutions to support strategic pricing decisions.
- Support new initiatives within customer solutions.
- Support and manage strategic planning across all businesses within customer solutions.
Business Performance
- Ensure all mandatory reporting for customer solutions is accurate and timely.
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team within customer solutions.
- Manage third-party functions outsourced by the bank.
- Maintain in-depth relationships with all management team members.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee financial planning for all business units within customer solutions, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support bank executives in performance discussions of business units.
Stakeholders
- Build credible and effective stakeholder relationships.
- Create partnerships with business owners.
Financial Operations
- Oversee financial operations and participate in key operational financial decisions.

- Ensure all models are regularly updated and maintained by team members.
- Oversee pricing discussions and ensure models are used effectively.

- Oversee all business performance data, ensuring relevance and usefulness for performance improvement.

Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee financial planning and analysis processes within customer solutions.
Financial Operations
- Ensure financial operations are conducted correctly to minimize risks.
- Manage end-to-end finance functions for customer solutions, including direct and indirect reports.
LEARNING AND GROWTH
Training of Subordinates
- Promote multi-skilling within the team and provide exposure across functions based on skills and capabilities.
- Arrange training and development aligned with employees' growth areas and encourage ownership of professional development.
- Engage in coaching and mentoring.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications : ACMA / CA (SA) with a master's qualification.
Experience :
- Over 10 years in a financial position within banking.
- Experience as a divisional head or divisional CFO.
- Over 5 years in personal, business banking, and cards.
- At least 5 years of management experience.
