Hiring! Legal & Contracts Manager (top law firm, Sandton) - Risk & Compliance Team Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Client Engagement Letters and SLA's – contract management framework: Review and amend standard engagement letters
  • Review and comment on SLA's, client policies and supplier code of conduct documents to ensure the firms' liability is limited
  • Assist in developing a contracts management system
  • Supplier Agreements: Third-party risk management Framework Review, negotiate and amend supplier agreements
  • Assist in developing and implementing a supplier/third-party risk management framework
  • Ensure suppliers complete the supplier risk assessment questionnaire
  • Ensure company Law compliance (eg CIPC filings)
  • Assist with compliance in other areas (eg date privacy)
  • Advise on legal matters from time to time
  • Conduct research and draft legal opinions
  • Draft and review contracts
  • Perform minor company secretarial duties
  • General Assistance to the Head of Risk and compliance
  • Other ad hoc duties from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Education and experience LLB degree
  • Admitted attorney
  • At least 6 years post articles
  • Knowledge of contract law, Companies Act, and basic commercial law principles
  • Experience drafting and reviewing company engagement letters and client SLA's
  • Company Law compliance experience, CIPC filings advantageous
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating supplier contracts
  • Exposure to Data Privacy and ABC is advantageous
  • Excellent computer literacy skills (Microsoft products)

  • Be empowered to solve software product problems in a way that works for our business
  • Carry out market competition analysis and user research

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • A degree from a reputable university
  • A track record of excellence
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Product Manager in a B2B SaaS company
  • Experience in leading and driving execution with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Native English speaker or English at a very high level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Curiosity, and the ability to understand business and client needs
  • Ability to analyze and simplify complex systems
  • Experience in implementing products using Agile methodologies (advantage)
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of product managers and product owners (advantage)
