Our client, a dynamic and growing distribution company, is looking for a Group Accountant to join their team in a key role supporting financial operations across the business.

As the Group Accountant you will play a pivotal role in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting decision-making within the organisation.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting skills and a proactive mindset.

The successful candidate will be part of a forward-thinking, results-driven distribution business, gain exposure to a broad range of accounting functions and business operations and be part of a supportive team environment with opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain cash flow and banking processes
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage fixed asset registers
  • Prepare and support audit packs
  • Compile and maintain the trial balance and balance sheet
  • Ensure accurate submission of VAT and tax returns
  • Produce monthly management reports
  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements
Job Experience and Skills Required
  • BCom in Finance
  • Completed articles or CIMA qualification (advantageous)
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP and Pivot Tables)
  • Strong grasp of financial principles and accounting processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in logistics or distribution industries is an advantage
