Job Description

We have a staff of 100 supporting 1000 children and are looking for a General Manager to head up this team.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide vision and direction to uplift children, empower women, and create healthy families in various communities.
  • Programme Management: Oversee multiple programmes, including Community Mothers, Children\'s Centre, and Respite Programme, ensuring effective implementation and impact.
  • Fundraising and Donor Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with donors, manage fundraising team, and ensure 100% of donations go directly to supporting and caring for children.
  • Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of staff, providing guidance and support to achieve organisational goals.
Qualifications And Requirements
Essential Skills
  • Non-Profit Experience: Proven experience in managing non-profit organisations or programmes, preferably in child welfare or community development.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Strong financial management skills, ensuring effective resource allocation and management.
  • Transport: A valid driver\'s license and own transport.
Desirable Qualities
  • Passion for Child Welfare: Strong passion for working with children and families, with a commitment to uplifting and empowering communities

  • Ability to travel to Khayelitsha, where the organisation\'s children\'s centre is located.
  • Proficiency in local languages, such as isiXhosa, may be beneficial.
