Job description


Are you passionate about advancing gender equality and driving meaningful social inclusion? Our client is looking for a committedGESI Specialistto join their team and lead impactful initiatives that challenge inequality, foster inclusion, and amplify diverse voices—especially across civil society and climate action projects.

Key Responsibilities

As the GESI Specialist, you will:

  • Integrate Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles into project strategies and implementation.
  • Apply intersectional feminism to drive diversity and inclusion outcomes, with specific attention to LGBTIQ+ rights, racial and socio-economic justice, and migrant communities.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external partners—including grassroots and community-based stakeholders—to ensure inclusive project design and delivery.
  • Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) components within bilateral-funded development projects.
  • Design and facilitate participatory workshops, conduct data collection and analysis, and contribute to the development of frameworks and strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise in at least two of the following: gender justice, diversity and inclusion, health, or human rights.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:An advanced degree (minimum Honours) in social sciences, preferably with a focus on gender studies. A strong foundation in gender, social justice, sociology, political science, health, or human rights is essential.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 4 years’ proven experience in civil society organisations working on gender equality and social inclusion.
    • At least 1–2 years supporting GESI or DEI components of bilateral-funded projects.
    • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders; prior engagement with community-based organisations is an advantage.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Experience in participatory and consulting methodologies, including workshop design and strategy development.
    • Familiarity with Just Energy Transition and Climate Action frameworks will be an added benefit.
