Role: Senior Gen AI eCommerce Beauty Copywriter

Location: Remote – Remote working until further notice

A Little Bit About the Role and Team:

As a Senior Gen AI eCommerce Beauty Copywriter, you will be an integral part of the team. You will combine deep understanding of beauty industry trends with a varied skillset that includes copywriting, investigative research, conceptual thinking, and copy tweaking to meet e‑retailer requirements. The role involves crafting premium copy for digital/web, focused on e‑commerce content: you’ll help our client’s premium brands fit their tone of voice to this landscape and advise on content that powerfully connects with customers.

In this role you’ll be an experienced storyteller, able to adopt our proprietary Gen AI copy agent tools to draft, refine and tweak e‑commerce copy, mainly product descriptions, ensuring brand tone of voice, style and SEO are at the core.

What you will be doing:

  • Draft, research, and tweak product detail page (PDP) content in British English
  • Using existing above‑the‑fold asset copy and product descriptions, craft compelling and e‑commerce driven below‑the‑fold (A+) copy for various haircare and skincare products, repurposing existing copy to fit various e‑retailer platforms
  • Enrich existing product information to suit the needs of other major e‑retailers and serve as a master copy for localisation (translation/transcreation into other languages)
  • Work closely with clients to create strong concepts from initial briefing through to execution
  • Set tone and drive copy excellence, working closely with the Associate Creative Director, Transcreation Lead and Project Managers
  • Maintain high awareness of relevant trending topics and news to identify content opportunities
  • Be responsible for working with internal teams to gather input and validate content
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all written content
  • Present and articulate concepts to clients

Your background:

  • 5–7 years’ experience in an advertising agency/consultancy
  • Strong experience writing for digital and social media, crafting e‑commerce materials and digital/social media content
  • SEO writing skills; comfortable creating content with SEO in mind
  • Background or strong interest in beauty/cosmetics/luxury/skincare/haircare
  • Experience managing your own workload to meet strict deadlines and comfortable with shifting priorities
  • Thorough understanding of the language and needs inherent to writing for beauty brands
  • Powerful grasp of how content plays out across multiple mediums
  • Able to use data and insight to inform creative ideas
  • Flair for words, curiosity, creativity, and ambition
  • Ability to think conceptually when needed; experience working as part of a traditional creative team (designer and copywriter) would be helpful
  • Demonstrated ability to combine and translate complex material from different sources into stories and content that engage and resonate with target audiences
  • Confident presenting and communicating clearly to team members and clients
  • Collaborative attitude to work well in partnership with an Art Director/Designer, to conceptualise and elevate ideas
