What Youll Be Doing

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for local and global markets.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best value.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and price movements.

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Build strong relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Conduct performance reviews and ensure compliance with certifications.
  • Support smaller suppliers to grow capacity and capability.

Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Coordinate closely with warehousing, logistics, and export teams.
  • Manage trade compliance documentation and shipping processes.
  • Oversee timely deliveries, resolving issues like short shipments or damages.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Business Development, Export, Marketing, and Finance teams.
  • Align product sourcing with market needs, promotions, and catalogues.
  • Assist with forecasting to support business growth.

Risk, Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure all procurement complies with company policy and international trade laws.
  • Manage risks such as FX exposure, supply chain disruptions, or geopolitical issues.
  • Track procurement costs, prepare reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Maintain product listings, handle new innovations, and manage catalogue updates.
  • Respond to internal queries from BDMs and Export Coordinators.
  • Review pricing, update ERP systems, and keep supplier data accurate.
What Were Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years proven experience in FMCG procurement, including international sourcing.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Advanced Excel and experience with at least one major ERP system.

Education

  • Matric plus a BCom (Purchasing, Supply Chain, Economics, or similar).

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, risk management, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Other

  • This role involves occasional domestic travel.
