Howden South Africa is currently looking for a Fitter GO to perform fitter activities in refurbishment, alterations, upgrading or maintenance of plant on construction sites during shutdowns and breakdowns.

What Will You Do?

• Perform Fitter work on mechanical plant
• Perform plant inspections and identify deviations, faulty components and defects
• Report to supervisor any defects or problems and unsafe acts or conditions
• Repair defects and replace faulty equipment and components as per instructions, drawings and standard instructions
• Inspect, service, repair and replace worn, damaged, defective items not conforming to Howden Power specifications on sections of plant ie. Bearings, couplings, lubrication units, gearboxes, radial vane controls, collar seals, heating elements, fan impellers, etc
• Adjust, set and align components to specifications on section of plant ie. Couplings, bearings, radial vane controls
• Maintain high standard of quality on all tasks at all times
• Comply to all Howden and Client safety requirements and standards

Your Experience Should Be...

• Grade 12 Certificate or N3 qualification.
• Qualified Trade Tested Mechanical Fitter
• 3 Years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter
• Power Station, Petro Chemical or Mining industry experience is required
• Valid Driver’s licence
• The ability to work independently with minimal guidance from Supervisor
