Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for a Fitter to join the team in Gqeberha. The ideal candidate must be a Trade Tested Artisan with at least 5 years of experience in the Automotive Manufacturing industry. Responsibilities include running a shift independently, performing maintenance and repairs on machines, and ensuring machine safety. Competence in hydraulics and pneumatics is essential, alongside good organizational and problem-solving skills. This is a contract position with shift and overtime requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years related experience in preventative maintenance and machine breakdowns.
• Sound working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to work under pressure with good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Fitter

My client in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry is seeking a Fitter to join their team.

Job Location: Gqeberha

Job Type: Contract

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must run a shift on his own.
• Must work shifts and overtime as required
• Assist the EMSEC GOLDWING in maintaining machine safety and meet deadline as required
• Do fault finding and repairs on machines
• Ensure that TPM2 are done correctly and on time
• Must be competent in hydraulics and pneumatics
• Be able to do minor welding repairs
• Be actively involve with continuous improvement of machinery
• Be involved with apprentice training
• Be able to do pipe fitting
• Assist with projects
• Must be able to work under minimum supervision
• Ensure that minimum stock levels on critical spares are kept intact
• Be able to do minor machining. (milling, grinding, turning)
• Be involve with machine upgrades

Minimum Requirements:

• Trade Tested Artisan (Fitter Trade)
• At least 5 years related experience in areas such as Preventative maintenance, machine breakdowns and safety systems
• Must have a sound working knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics
• Ability to work as a team member, under pressure with good organizational skills and problem solving capabilities
• Computer literate in MS Word and MS Excel
