A recruitment agency is seeking a Financial Accountant in Durban, South Africa. The role involves preparing financial reports and managing accounting entries in compliance with reporting timelines. Ideal candidates will have a B.Com Accounting degree, 4-6 years of relevant experience, and strong analytical skills. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in Insurance or Financial services is key.
  • Thorough understanding of IFRS, VAT and Income Tax.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounting entries and prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare monthly petty cash, bank and GL reconciliations.
  • Prepare commentary on financial results for Management.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and prepare confirmations.
  • Compile documentation for audits.
  • Support implementation of internal controls.
  • Assist in the implementation of the ERP system.
