Who is the client?

Our client is a well-established, global professional services organisation operating across the US, Europe and emerging markets. They are transitioning part of their small finance shared services function from abroad to South Africa and are looking to appoint a permanent Finance Shared Services Team Lead to lead this change.

What will you be doing:

This is a hands‑on finance operations leadership role, focused on managing shared services and driving efficiencies and process improvements.

  • Lead the transition of the finance shared services function from the abroad to South Africa
  • Build and manage a local shared services team in South Africa – think small team, not large scale SSC
  • Take ownership of AR, AP, consulting billing, commissions and month‑end processes
  • Oversee and troubleshoot system integrations between project accounting and ERP systems
  • Act as the link between Finance and IT to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency
  • Improve controls, processes and automation within the shared services environment
  • Engage closely with internal stakeholders and international counterparts
What the role requires:
  • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience in a shared services or outsourced consultancy environment
  • Strong experience in project‑based billing environments
  • Solid understanding of ERP systems (NetSuite advantageous) and project accounting systems
  • Good working knowledge of system integrations and finance process flows
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
