Facilities and Grounds Manager – Simpson Park Camp

Summary of Position: The Facilities and Grounds Manager for Simpson Park Camp manages and oversees the care, maintenance, and future development of the campground facilities. This is an all-inclusive position including facilities and grounds maintenance activities and housekeeping activities. This position will direct and manage any part-time and seasonal maintenance and/or housekeeping staff.

Annual Rate: Salary plus housing

Qualifications:

  • Be in agreement with the Simpson Park Camp’s Statement of Faith
  • Have basic computer and organizational skills
  • Have a broad knowledge of best practices including building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Have a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks including physical labor with minimal supervision
  • Effective interpersonal skills in working with staff and volunteers
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule to accommodate camp schedules

General Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out the policies established by the SPCMGA Board
  2. Work within the yearly assigned departmental budget
  3. In conjunction with the Camp Director make recommendations for future maintenance needs which extend past established yearly budgets
  4. In conjunction with the Camp Director make recommendations for future capital development and budgets to help meet advancement goals
  5. Responsible for the maintenance and development of camp-owned buildings and equipment
  6. Operates equipment safely and maintains all equipment regularly
  7. Maintains appropriate records for all buildings and equipment
  8. Able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  9. Able to supervise and direct other maintenance staff, housekeeping staff, and volunteers when necessary
  10. Work with office and housekeeping staff to ensure facilities are set up, clean, and in good working order prior to guest group arrival
  11. Utilize available resources – (Self, Volunteers and Staff), work with camp director to ensure grounds are cleaned-up before, during, and after each group and the season
  12. Ensure gates and doors are locked and opened at appropriate times
  13. Remain flexible and ready to respond in the case of emergencies
  14. Perform other duties as assigned
