Job Description

To lead the implementation of the Experience Design (ED) strategy within the area of responsibility, ensuring a seamless end-to-end experience for clients. The role champions design thinking, drives cross-functional collaboration, and takes shared accountability for business outcomes. It also involves mentoring and managing design teams, while contributing to the ongoing evolution of the design practice.

Experience Required
  • Take accountability for the usability of end-to-end journeys and solutions ensuring that usability trade off discussions and decisions are made based on client data. Empower designers, content designers and researchers to challenge anti-usability decisions with data.
  • Take accountability for the overarching business goals and objectives as it pertains to the area of responsibility and ensure that design priorities are aligned with them. This involves collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders e.g. product, segment, technology etc.
  • Partner with Solution Owners, Technology Leads, Digital and eCommerce Heads to ensure customer insight, design opportunities and experience led thinking are embedded in roadmap prioritisation and PI planning process. Actively participate and influence the PI planning roadmap based on data and ensure the alignment of UX Content, UX Research and Product Design delivery to the plan.
  • Define clear priorities for design projects and initiatives based on factors such as business impact, user needs, and resource availability. This involves evaluating the potential value and urgency of each project, making trade-offs as required and allocating team members accordingly.
  • Challenge and reframe business problems by collaborating with cross functional leadership and through the use of client data aligning design efforts to measurable business outcomes.
  • Work closely with Product, Technology, Data, Marketing, Risk and Compliance and Digital and eCommerce to align design priorities and manage the tradeoff discussions pertaining to design priorities and analyze and manage the interdependencies between multiple squads and value stream design teams. Collaborate with other Heads of Designs to ensure design reusability and co-creation of designs.
  • Encourage innovative thinking and guide staff creativity to ensure effective and appropriate client experiences. Devise methods to grow staff creativity and innovation whilst fostering a culture of cross-functional collaboration.
  • Contribute thought leadership, research, content design and define new design methodologies without reliance on precedent that facilitate the identification and understanding of complex or ambiguous client requirements so that progress may be made against their specifications.
  • Ensure that all key milestones along the ED value chain are delivered in accordance with ED governance and business requirements e.g. (Discovery, Ideation, product Design, Content Design, Testing, Implementation and Monitoring). Develop specific activities as input into the PI planning and work allocation in the squads.
