A leading aerospace company is looking for Escape System Engineers in Pretoria to develop and integrate escape system solutions. Responsibilities include assessing operational needs, optimizing system architectures, and supporting product lifecycle initiatives. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and have relevant experience. The position requires onsite work with potential travel and security clearance requirements.
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works team is seeking Escape System Engineers, in Hazelwood, MO, to develop equipment and escape/crew station system integration layouts and designs using Unigraphics (UG NX) and other design methods. The role supports Integrated Product Teams, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
Evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and ensure compatibility of all interfaces
Perform analyses to optimize system architectures, including affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other quality factors to ensure mission success
Support requirements management processes, risk and issue management, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment
This position is expected to be 100% onsite at the listed location. Travel may be required up to 10% domestically depending on business needs.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance is also required.
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or computer science
Level 2: 2+ years of related engineering experience with a bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Level 3: 5+ years with a bachelor’s or 3+ years with a Master’s or PhD
Associate (Level 2): typically 2+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experienced (Level 3): typically 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation may be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Summary pay ranges:
Associate (Level 2): $81,600 - $110,400
Experienced (Level 3): $97,750 - $132,250
