Role Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and assessments.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental legislation and permit conditions.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans and programmes (EMPs).
  • Identify and mitigate environmental risks and impacts.
  • Provide training and guidance on environmental policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders regarding environmental matters.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory submissions.
  • Liaison with Contractors.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • At least 4+ years of proven experience as ECO, performing environmental audits.
  • Sound knowledge of South African environmental legislation (e.g., NEMA, EIA Regulations).
  • Drafting Environment Method Statements and Emergency Procedures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Incident Reporting.
  • Liaising with Competent Authorities.
Skills, And Characteristics
  • Sound knowledge of South African environmental legislation (e.g., NEMA, EIA Regulations).
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
