Overview

Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAPASA Registered) – Cape Town (In-house; travel across Africa, required)

Our client in the Environmental Consulting / Renewable Energy sector is looking for an experienced Environmental Assessment Practitioner who is professionally registered with EAPASA and has 4–5 years of private sector EIA experience.

Minimum requirements
  • Professional registration with EAPASA (Mandatory)
  • 4–5 years’ private sector EIA experience in South Africa; renewable energy sector preferred
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to deliver results on time and on budget
  • Deep understanding of environmental regulations, SEMAs, and the Equator Principles
  • Willingness to travel across Africa as required
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex environmental assessment projects, including EIA, ECO, EMP, and construction management
  • Coordinate environmental services, monitoring, and auditing teams
  • Ensure quality control, timely deliverables, and client satisfaction
  • Prepare proposals, tenders, and scopes of work.
  • Track budgets and project costs
  • Develop operational systems, processes, and training programmes for the team
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and strategic partnerships
  • Represent the organisation at industry forums and public engagements
  • Promote sustainability, regenerative design, and renewable energy best practices
