The main purpose of this role is to ensure that maintenance activities are effectively organized and executed to maximize the reliability, availability, and performance of equipment and facilities.
Maintenance Planning
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure availability of tools, materials, and personnel for maintenance tasks.
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce equipment failures and extend asset lifespan.
- Prioritize maintenance activities based on operational needs and equipment criticality.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure maintenance practices comply with safety regulations and industry standards
- Assist maintenance manager with departmental health and safety compliance
- Ensure all contractor safety files are in order and up to date.
Work Order Management
- Create, issue, and track work orders for maintenance tasks
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately and on time.
Resource Allocation
- Allocate personnel, tools, and materials for maintenance tasks.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse maintenance data to identify trends and improvement areas.
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities, including performance metrics and KPIs.
- Compile breakdown reports and investigations.
- Report daily maintenance activities and progress to stakeholders and maintenance manager.
Communication & Coordination
- Communicate with stakeholders to align maintenance priorities with business goals.
- Plan and communicate with contractors for scheduled maintenance
Record Keeping & System Updates
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
- Update maintenance management systems with relevant information
Health and Safety
- Participate in safety forums created by SOILL for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at SOILL
- Distribute safety information as and when required
- Always wear protective clothing (where applicable)
Qualification and Experience
- Technical diploma or equivalent
- Certifications in maintenance planning or reliability are advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years in maintenance planning, scheduling, or related engineering maintenance roles.
- Hands-on exposure to work order management, and resource allocation.
- Analytical ability for data-driven decision-making and trend analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office
