About the role
- We are seeking a skilled Energy Manager to lead data-driven energy management, sustainability reporting, and net-zero strategies across our diverse client portfolio. You will spearhead energy data analysis to uncover savings, conduct energy audits, develop energy management plans, and manage energy project

- This role demands expertise in energy, water, and emissions analytics, proficiency in South African energy regulations, and a passion for delivering measurable cost and carbon reductions. You will collaborate with clients, municipalities, and internal teams to drive innovative, sustainable solutions.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Energy Management, or Environmental Science
- 5+ years in energy management and sustainability reporting.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Manager in Training (EMIT)
- Deep knowledge of Eskom and municipal tariffs, energy bylaws, and South African energy regulations (e.g., SANS 50010, Carbon Tax Act).
- Proven experience in GHG emissions reporting (Scope 1, 2, 3) and carbon footprint analysis per GHG Protocol.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (Power Query, VBA, PivotTables), Power BI and energy management software is advantageous.
Additional Demonstratable Requirements
Energy Data Analysis & Savings
- Analyse energy and water consumption data across client portfolios to identify opportunities through tariff optimization, demand management, and efficiency measures.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for energy projects, including ROI and payback periods.
Reporting on Energy, Water, and Emissions
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports on energy, water, and emissions performance for client SLAs and ESG compliance.
- Lead GHG inventory compilation (Scope 1–3).
- Create client-facing dashboards to visualize KPIs and track progress toward net-zero targets.
Energy Audits
- Conduct ASHRAE Level 1–3 energy audits across commercial and industrial portfolios, identifying low-cost / no-cost measures and capital projects.
- Provide detailed audit reports with prioritized recommendations for energy efficiency, water conservation, and emissions reduction.
- Collaborate with facilities teams to implement audit findings and track performance improvements.
Energy Project Management
- Manage end-to-end energy projects (e.g., solar PV installations, HVAC upgrades, smart metering) from feasibility to commissioning.
- Track and report project benefits, including energy savings, emissions reductions, and financial returns.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Utilities Managers, Financial Controllers, and ESG teams to align energy strategies with client priorities.
- Present data-driven insights to C-suite clients and internal leadership to secure buy-in for energy initiatives
