Job description

This role focuses on producing and updating electrical drawings, supporting engineering activities, assisting with projects, and helping maintain safety and compliance standards. The position suits someone who enjoys detailed technical work, problem solving, and contributing to continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting. The role forms part of the Process dpt, and reports to the Senior Design Engineer. Candidates with solid understanding of a factory environment will be given preference.

Responsibilities
1. Engineering Support
  • Create new electrical drawings.
  • Keep drawings updated when changes occur.
  • Ensure all drawings meet required standards.
  • Conduct research and studies to identify best practices and new design trends.
  • Prepare clear presentations for the design team.
2. Continuous Improvement and Projects
  • Suggest and support ideas that can improve efficiency or reduce costs.
  • Help drive design projects from start to finish.
  • Make sure projects are completed safely, within the set budget and timeframe.
3. Compliance
  • Work within the organisations policies, procedures and controls.
  • Identify and report any risks in your area.
4. Cost and Financial Control
  • Use resources responsibly and support cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Monitor spending in your area and report any variances.
5. Customer & Stakeholder Support
  • Build and maintain good relationships with internal teams and external contacts, give feedback and updates to management when needed.
Requirements
  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Up to 3 years experience working with electrical drawings or design in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good computer literacy (MS Office + industry‑specific design software).
  • Able to read, understand and interpret electrical drawings and installations.
  • Knowledge of production processes.
