Purpose of the Role

The purpose of a Distribution Supervisor is to manage drivers and delivery assistants, coordinate load communications, track and expedite deliveries, ensure route adherence, resolve invoice discrepancies, oversee fleet maintenance and safety, manage driver shortages, communicate with customers regarding delivery times, oversee truck washing, implement performance tracking systems, manage fuel usage, and lead the distribution team.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing clear instructions and load information to drivers and assistants, ensuring they are well-informed about their tasks and delivery requirements.
• Monitoring delivery progress, tracking locations, and expediting deliveries to ensure timeliness.
• Conducting debrief sessions with drivers to gather feedback and address issues.
• Receiving delivery route packs and ensuring all governance and payment requirements are met, including signatures and forms.
• Resolving invoice discrepancies related to distribution activities.
• Conducting pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
• Implementing and managing driver and truck scorecards to evaluate performance and identify improvement areas.
• Establishing and maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring safety compliance.
• Managing team activities, including meetings, attendance, leave requests, and training.
• Monitoring team goals and overall performance.
