At Ackermans, we’re looking for a changemaker to plan, coordinate, implement, and monitor our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programmes ensuring every initiative makes a real difference in the communities we serve. We’re a fully in‑office team.
This role is based at our Support Centre in Kuils River, Cape Town.
Qualifications
- Essential: Grade 12 Certificate / Matric
- Preferred: Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
Knowledge & Skills
- Project planning and implementation
- General CSI landscape and charitable organisations within South Africa
- Early Childhood Development and social investment organisations related to women and children
- Reporting and verification processes relevant to CSI and BBBEE Reporting
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written across all levels - must have a proven track record with writing progress report
- Budgeting; input, tracking and overall management
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent prioritisation skills
- Resilient in delivering outcomes
- Assertive with high levels of drive and initiative
- Strong service & detail orientation
- Sound planning, organising and time management skills
- Proficiency in relevant computer programmes such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Experience
- Essential: Minimum of 2 years successful experience in the planning, co‑ordination, and implementation of multiple project‑based programs
- Preferred: Experience working within a Corporate Social Investment team or environment
- Proven track record in growing and sustaining CSI programmes, including but not limited to community‑based projects, voluntary CSI for employees, donations and sponsorships
- Experience in sourcing and managing partners and suppliers to successfully implement CSI programmes and projects
- Successful track record in recommending and managing budgets
Other Requirements
- Valid driver's license, with own vehicle preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide input into the annual Ackermans CSI strategy and implementation plan
- Plan, coordinate, implement, monitor, and report on the Ackermans CSI flagship Ubübele Schools early childhood development programme, which includes local travel to schools and partners
- Plan, coordinate, implement, monitor, and report on all other internal Ackermans CSI initiatives; including but not limited to International Nelson Mandela Day, employee volunteerism, donations and sponsorships, winter drives, etc. (This includes local travel to facilitate implementation and attend necessary engagements)
- Coordinate, implement and monitor the Ackermans Ubübele communication plan, ensuring maximum communication of all initiatives through the appropriate channels, i.e. radio, print, conferences, meetings, etc.
- Report on the progress and outcomes of all Ackermans CSI activities
- Propose, coordinate, and manage budgets allocated to Ackermans CSI projects
- Manage the administration requirements of the overall Ackermans CSI Programme
