A leading tax consultancy firm in Durban seeks a dedicated Tax Consultant to provide administrative support related to corporate tax compliance. Responsibilities include reviewing tax computations, assisting with SARS correspondence, and managing client tax files. The ideal candidate should possess a BCom Accounting degree, relevant tax qualifications, and proficiency in tax software. This role requires strong communication and attention to detail, with opportunities to enhance one's career in a dynamic environment.
Provide administrative and operational support to the Senior Corporate Tax Consultant in respect of Corporate Tax related matters to ensure compliance and efficiency in tax processes.
Corporate Tax Compliance : Reviewing of tax computations and related completed tax returns.
Tax Disputes & Correspondence : Assisting with the drafting of responses to SARS in respect of Income Tax and Provisional Tax verification / audit letters, including preparing and submitting supporting documentation to SARS.
Dividends Tax Compliance : Reviewing completed Dividends Tax returns and supporting documentation.
Inter-departmental Coordination : Liaising with various departments within the firm to obtain necessary supporting documentation for Company Tax matters.
Liaising with SARS to address tax queries, follow-ups, and compliance matters as required.
Client & Compliance Management : Maintaining accurate client tax files and records.
Managing a register of tax matters to ensure proper tracking and resolution.
Invoicing of various tax compliance tasks as completed.
Monthly invoicing of client groups.
Tax Knowledge: Understanding of Income Tax and related compliance requirements.
Technology Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of SARS E-Filing, good Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
Time Management: Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines in line with SARS requirements.
Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and organisational skills.
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills for liaising with SARS, clients and staff.
Education: BCom Accounting degree (or other equivalent), Tax Technician and / or Professional qualification.
Experience: Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles (preferable).
Proficiency in SARS E-Filing.
Other: Valid driver's license.
