Job Description

A renowned NPO is seeking a Copywriter to create emotive, impactful content in collaboration with the Donor Relations team, aligned with the organisation’s vision, mission, and values. This role will be critical in the strategic effectiveness and quality of targeted content shared with various donor segments on all media platforms. Craft content that aims to retain existing donors and educate, inspire, and acquire new donors. Research, plan, create, curate, and execute to expand and elevate the brand. Permanent, hybrid, April 2026 start, full-time hours.R25 000 - R31 800 per month experience dependent.

Responsibilities:

Content Strategy: Develop a content strategy that supports the organisation’s objectives and resonates with target audiences, with an in-depth understanding of the organisational strategy and donor segments.

Brand Voice: Maintain the brand’s voice, ensuring professionalism and consistency across all written content.

Fundraising and Marketing Support: Contribute to development of fundraising ideas, marketing concepts, and refinement of messaging identifying opportunities and solving problems.

Storytelling & Engagement: Regularly visit the hospital to engage with staff, patients, and parents, collecting stories and content that reflect the impact of the hospital's work.

Copy Development: Develop creative, persuasive and engaging copy for all fundraising and marketing purposes- including proposals, reports, letters, website content, social media posts, email campaigns, print materials, and advertisements. Also transform one content piece into a variety of formats.

Editing and Proof Reading: Must ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to organisational standards and guidelines.

Collaboration: Brief and assist external designer, marketing and digital agencies with content.

Market & Trend Analysis: Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in copywriting and content marketing.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of content and adjust strategies based on data insights

Project Manage: Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

Works in an open plan office with the Donor Relations team. This position will meet and develop relationships with various internal and external stakeholders regularly. Will be required to work outside normal office hours and weekends from time to time and work remotely from time to time. A key part of your working environment is to peruse the facilities of the organisation for newsworthy and captivating patient stories. Engage with medical professionals, patients and parents.

Requirements

A degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

Proven experience as a copywriter, preferably in a fundraising or healthcare environment.

Must be highly skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
