Job description
Contract Management

Review and manage all contracts for fire protection projects, ensuring they are in compliance with company policies, local regulations, and safety standards.

Negotiate terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.

Monitor the progress of contracts from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Project Coordination

Supervise the execution of fire protection installations, maintenance, and repairs to ensure high standards of quality and safety.

Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth communication and timely completion.

Track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring the scope of work is adhered to.

Risk Management & Compliance

Identify potential risks related to project delivery and work proactively to mitigate them.

Ensure compliance with all fire protection regulations and safety protocols.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire protection industry trends, standards, and regulations.

Budget & Cost Control

Oversee and manage project budgets, ensuring cost‑effective solutions and preventing overruns.

Prepare cost estimates, negotiate pricing, and manage invoicing and payments.

Client Liaison & Reporting

Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their expectations are met and addressing any concerns promptly.

Prepare and present regular progress reports to clients and senior management.

Provide technical support and advice to clients on fire protection systems and services.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient project execution.

Coordinate with procurement and HR departments to ensure that qualified personnel and resources are available.

Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and excellence within the team.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Fire Protection, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum 5‑7 years' experience in contract management within the fire protection industry, construction, or engineering sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple fire protection projects simultaneously, including installation and maintenance.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, suppression systems, etc.), safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent contract negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong financial acumen for managing project budgets and cost control.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and own transport.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites within the Cape Town area.
  • South African citizen or valid work permit.
