Are you a skilled compressor technician with a knack for problem-solving and a passion for working with sophisticated compressor systems? Join our client in the East Rand of Johannesburg, a leader in manufacturing and servicing industrially rated screw compressors, as they seek a Technician to ensure their products continue to perform at peak levels.

About the Role

As a Technician, you'll be at the forefront of servicing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining compressor systems. Your work will involve a mix of mechanical and electrical tasks, whether in-house or on-site for service assignments. Additionally, you'll be responsible for building, installing, commissioning, and testing complete compressor setups and contributing to custom build applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform servicing, diagnostics, fault-finding, and repairs on compressed air products
  • Carry out electrical installations up to the customers isolator
  • Complete installations, piping jobs, commissioning, and handovers to clients
  • Handle small machining jobs, welding, brazing, soldering, and spray painting as needed
  • Deliver excellent customer service by addressing client needs effectively and maintaining professional communication
  • Maintain detailed service reports for each job, identifying opportunities for additional service or parts sales
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential equipment sales opportunities
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines while working with electrical, mechanical, and chemical systems
What We're Looking For
  • Qualifications:
    • Mechanically and electrically inclined
    • Certified Electrician or Millwright
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure without supervision
  • Proficient in reading technical diagrams and manuals
  • Organized, responsible, and customer-focused
  • Willingness to work standby and overtime as needed
