ROLE SUMMARY
- We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented isiZulu Teacher to join our College faculty from January 2026. The successful candidate will be a passionate educator who brings the isiZulu language and culture to life in the classroom, inspiring students to engage deeply and develop fluency, confidence, and appreciation for South Africa’s linguistic heritage.
- The role requires a teacher who is collaborative, innovative, and committed to nurturing each student’s growth both academically and personally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging isiZulu lessons that inspire curiosity and mastery of the language.
- Create a supportive and stimulating learning environment that promotes active participation and cultural understanding.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of teaching, including punctuality, preparation, and feedback.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Reflect on and refine teaching practices through ongoing professional development and collaboration.
- Prepare and mark assessments, examinations, and written reports to a high standard.
- Communicate effectively with parents and respond to queries within 24 hours.
- Participate fully in school life, including extracurricular activities, events, and meetings as required.
- Contribute positively to the ethos and values of Reddford House and the wider Inspired group.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- A relevant university degree in isiZulu, Languages, or a related field.
- Certified Teaching Status (SACE) and the right to work in South Africa.
- Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience at secondary or college level.
- Proven experience teaching isiZulu within the IEB curriculum.
- Previous experience in a high-performing or international school environment (advantageous).
- Confidence in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
- A deep passion for teaching isiZulu and fostering linguistic and cultural appreciation.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
- A nurturing approach combined with high academic expectations.
- Adaptability, resilience, and enthusiasm for working within a progressive, international community.
- A growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional improvement.
