Job summary

A leading technology distribution company in South Africa is seeking a Cloud Account Manager to promote its Cloud and Hosting offerings to Cape Town-based resellers. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of IT sales experience and will be responsible for managing reseller accounts, driving sales of Cloud solutions, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. This permanent position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. A semi-formal dress code is expected in the office environment.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of IT Sales/ External Account Management experience in the ICT Distribution.
  • Proficient in managing reseller relationships.
  • Ability to engage with Brand and Pre-sales teams.

Responsibilities

Overview

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To promote FD’s Cloud and Hosting offerings to assigned Cape Town-based resellers. Demonstrate knowledge of all First Distribution business offerings. Drive a balanced brand portfolio of Cloud and Hosting Products within the assigned reseller base.

Cloud Account Manager - Job Duties and Responsibilities

Sales and Account Management

  • Sales of Cloud Solutions and Services to partners
  • Driving targets based on monthly GP targets on allocated accounts
  • Sales, Business Development, and knowledge transfer of Cloud offerings to allocated accounts
  • Recruit and onboard additional resellers
  • Expand product offerings within existing resellers
  • Driving reseller business and marketing strategy to enable the expansion of the FD brand portfolio within existing and new targeted accounts
  • Understand reseller strategy, programs, and complete portfolio of products
  • Sales Certifications to be current on all brands and maintained
  • Bi-weekly Business Review Sessions with Brand and Presales (FD)
  • Weekly Pipeline Status of projected deals and probability of deal status
  • Report opportunity details to Sales manager on a regular basis (biweekly) showing deal progression and pipeline creation using Customer Relationship Management system
  • Discuss KPI and Target tracking weekly
  • Track and forecast Partner Activities and status of activities achieved; feedback on Brand performance and measure success to be discussed in weekly meeting with Sales manager
  • Engage and communicate Brand updates to Resellers
  • Attend bi-weekly Brand discussions, planning, pipeline, and update sessions with Brand team
  • Build and manage relationship with Key Resellers and FD Brand and Pre-sales teams
  • Be the central point of contact for all resellers on Vendor Programmes (e.g., partner programs, incentive programs and rebate programs). Loop in FD Brand manager for support
  • Ensure the satisfactory execution of Reseller business strategy plan
  • Attend Reseller meetings 2-3 per day
  • Attend Vendor Conferences
  • Demonstrate sales growth
  • Ensure that sales targets are achieved and report any deviations with detailed reasoning

Marketing Management

  • Attend marketing planning sessions with brand manager and marketing hub (FD). Help to drive initiatives for the Top Partner list
  • Encourage reseller awareness and attendance of all FD events and initiatives

People Management

  • Managing resellers expectations by engaging with operations, Brand and Pre-sales teams to support all Reseller requests
  • Attend training provided by Vendors to become totally self-sufficient in the sales of products
Requirements

  • 2-3 years of IT Sales/ External Account Management experience in the ICT Distribution
  • AWS / Microsoft Cloud Certifications would be an advantage
