We are seeking a recent graduate from a reputable South African institution to join our clinical research team as a Graduate Technology Analyst. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy problem solver with strong hands‑on skills in modern productivity and data tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps) and foundational coding abilities. You will partner with specialized clinical and operational teams to design, build, and optimize technology solutions that streamline workflows, enhance data integrity, and enable smarter, more efficient decision‑making across the research lifecycle. You will work on projects spanning data visualization, workflow automation, app development, and process optimization, helping to translate complex research needs into robust, user‑friendly tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical research stakeholders (e.g., clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, pharmacovigilance, regulatory) to understand process pain points and translate them into technical requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain low‑code applications and automations using Microsoft Power Platform
- Build dashboards and reports in Power BI to monitor study progress, KPIs, quality metrics, and operational performance.
- Create Power Apps to streamline task tracking, study documentation, site support, and role‑based workflows.
- Use Power Automate to integrate systems, reduce manual tasks, and standardize processes.
- Write clean, maintainable code (e.g., Python, R, SQL, or C#) for data processing, ETL pipelines, and custom integrations with clinical systems when needed.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and audit trails to ensure compliance and integrity of clinical data.
- Develop standardized templates, forms, and reusable components to drive consistency and scalability across studies.
- Support UAT, training, and documentation to ensure successful adoption of tools.
- Monitor performance and usage, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve solutions based on feedback and metrics.
- Adhere to data privacy, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., POPIA, GxP, company policies).
- Coordinate with IT and InfoSec on access controls, environments, and governance for Power Platform and analytics solutions.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives and proof‑of‑concept projects leveraging emerging technologies (e.g., AI‑assisted analytics, advanced visualization).
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Honours degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related field from a reputable South African institution.
- Strong academic performance and evidence of practical project work or internships.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Power Platform
- Power BI data modeling (DAX, Power Query), dashboard design, report publishing, row‑level security.
- Power Apps canvas/model‑driven app development, connectors, environment management basics.
- Power Automate flow design, approvals, integrations with Microsoft 365 and common APIs.
- Foundational coding skills in one or more languages (e.g., Python, R, C#, JavaScript) and familiarity with Git‑based version control.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL; experience with ETL/data wrangling.
- Understanding of data visualization principles and UX best practices for business users.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and Azure services is beneficial.
