Position Title: CLIN NURSE I – Registered Nurse, Surgery

Location: Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville, TN

Employment Type: Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift (7 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.), rotating weekends and minor/major holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Complete nursing history and initiate patient education.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Implement plan of care appropriate to diagnosis.
  • Evaluate care outcomes and problem‑solve unit/patient assignments.
  • Introduce new employees/students to unit routines.
  • Participate on unit‑based committees.
  • Demonstrate competence in critical skills, delivering age‑specific care.
  • Supervise LPNs, nursing assistants, HUCs, techs, and sitters.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Complete required annual education assignments.
  • Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum educational background sufficient to meet licensure requirements (no specific degree specified).
  • New graduate within first year of orientation; eligible to move to level II after one year of experience.
  • Tennessee State RN licensure required (must be maintained).
  • CPR certification required.
