A leading cleaning service provider in South Africa is seeking a dedicated cleaner to join their team. The role requires at least a Grade 10 education and offers full-time employment. Key responsibilities include cleaning various facilities, operating heavy-duty equipment, and adhering to healthcare cleaning standards. Successful candidates should be self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and willing to work shifts, including nights and weekends. Training and compliance with safety standards are essential components of this position.
Minimum Requirements: Grade 10. Basic knowledge of the Legislative framework and processes related to cleaning. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to liaise with internal and external stake holders. Ability to communicate well with people at different levels. Ability to organize and plan. Must be self-motivated and be prepared to rotate to other units. Ability to act with tact and insight. Knowledge of Batho Pele Principle. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in a team. Must be prepared to work shifts which includes fixed afterhours night duty weekends and public holiday. Applicant should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance.
Clean floors by sweeping mopping buffing and operating cleaning machines
Clean walls windows doors window frames and all bathroom areas including tiles showers basins and lockers
Dust wash and polish furniture and fittings
Clean corridors theatres X-ray rooms sluice rooms kitchens public toilets offices clinics entrances stairs fire escapes side walls lifts passages waiting areas equipment and carpets
Remove medical and general waste clean bins and ensure proper waste segregation
Adhere to healthcare waste management policies and infection control guidelines
Operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment
Defrost and clean unit refrigerators
Refill soap containers and keep cleaning trolleys clean and organised
Complete daily cleaning activities on the cleaning control list
Adhere to all cleaning service policies procedures and timelines
Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
Perform additional duties as allocated by the supervisor
Participate in continuous training and development programmes
Attend meetings and training sessions as approved by the supervisor
Comply with the Performance Management and Development System including contracting reviews and final assessments
