Job description

The Faircape Group constitutes a group of companies with interests in a number of activities including Healthcare, Retirement Holdings, Restaurant and Catering and related activities.

We operate in 6 prime locations across the Western Cape and we are currently in search of a skilled and experienced Chef De Partie (Temporary - maternity cover)to join our Restaurant and Catering team at our facility Cle Du Cap within the southern suburbs.

Responsibilities include, but not be limited:

Meal Preparation and Presentation
  • Control cooking of all food from preparation to presentation
  • Ensure the meals are preparedcorrectly according to companyspecifications
  • Ensure that all necessary safety andhealth procedures are followed atall times
  • Ensure that you use the equipmentcorrectly and safely

Health and safety

  • Ensure you and your team maintainthe highest possible food hygienestandards

Coffee Shop

  • Ensure that the quality of café mealsis of the highest standard
  • Ensure that the café fridge is cleaned and all items labelled anddated as per company policy


Qualifications:

Chef's diploma / qualification from a registered tertiary education provider

Requirements and Experience:

  • Experience in food quality management and standardisation
  • Strong focus on quality and adherence to sanitation procedures
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
  • Ability to travel and relieve colleagues at other facilities when required

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to follow sanitization procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Consistently focus on maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of food preparation and service
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional food quality in every dish
  • In-depth understanding of food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality
  • Proficient in various cooking and baking techniques and methods
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a kitchen environment

Specific Requirements:

  • Clear health record
  • Clear criminal record
  • Clear credit record
  • Written references

Working hours: You will be required to work 16.25 shifts per month, according to the roster, from 07h00 to 19h00, Monday to Sunday. Need to be flexible to accommodate the standby procedure of the company.

Faircape offers a market related salary.The salary will be dependable on experience, qualifications, skills and attributes. Please note, your total salary could increase per month due to Sundays work - remunerated at time and half and Public holidays)
