Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Buyers in procuring required materials and services daily to satisfy operational requirements.
- Assist in resolving queries within the purchase process.
- Participate in the Process Alignment Team (PAT) to optimize service delivery and availability.
- Report unsatisfactory / poor-performing suppliers to vendor management.
- Keep up to date with market trends and new goods and services, and effectively react to changes in demand, thus enabling cost savings and competitiveness.
- Assist and guide end users in completing purchase requisitions.
- Create, issue, modify, and process purchase orders.
- Communicate with end users on the status of purchase orders.
- Assist in receiving and evaluating all quotations.
- Ensure maintenance and updating of pricing of goods and services on the relevant system.
- Place orders with suppliers for goods and services required.
- Capture expected delivery dates if extensions exist on agreed lead times, as well as the expected reasons for deviation.
- Continuously engage in efforts to improve on-time deliveries of stock times, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide superior customer service.
- Attend to and assist in resolving procurement issues such as incorrect proof of delivery, incorrect delivery price, and wrong item identified, etc.
- Maintain and update purchasing documentation.
- Conduct purchasing administration.
- Identify repetitive purchases for contract opportunities.
- Assist the stock controller / inventory controller in expediting of stock.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Supply Chain / Logistic Management.
- Grade 12.
- At least two (2) year’s working experience in the Procurement Department.
- Computer literacy.
- Driver’s license and own transport.
