Overview

Our client is seeking a Buyer / Stock and Stores / Creditors Clerk to join their team in Parow Industrial, Cape Town. This is a permanent position in the Engineering / Industrial Services / Fleet Maintenance sector. The successful candidate will manage stock, stores, procurement, partial creditors functions, and supplier relationships while maintaining accurate records and supporting cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

• Matric essential; post-matric qualification (diploma or university) advantageous
• Approx. 2 years’ experience in buying, stock, stores, or creditors preferred, but attitude, energy, and willingness to learn are essential
• Computer literate: Pastel, Excel, and in-house applications
• Own transport essential
• References demonstrating reliability and good attendance

Key Responsibilities

• Install and manage stock control and stores management systems
• Source parts and materials, obtaining multiple quotes where necessary
• Maintain supplier relationships and manage procurement effectively
• Capture fleet and stock data accurately
• Reconcile invoices to statements and stock takes (partial creditors function)
• Support occasional weekend stock takes or office/stores management activities
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through best-price sourcing and accurate stock control
