In this Business Development Manager Position
  • Develop and maintain strong existing customer relations and loyalty through ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for conducting high quality presentation of non-standardized solutions to project customers.
  • Develop target lists of new business within existing portfolio and continuously review and update.
  • Establish and present customized offers to customers
  • Prepare and realize project offerings.
  • Responsible for product targets as defined within existing portfolio.
  • Responsible for budgeted growth in additional business within existing customer portfolio.
  • Ensure Customer commitments are clearly communicated to respective operations – clear business set up process.
  • Maintain pipeline in Salesforce
  • Perform roles and responsibilities in compliance with Company Policies, Procedures and Instructions.
  • Informal influence to enable improvement and change within the organization.
  • Assist Global Bid Team where large projects require commercial and technical solutions
  • Achieves targets aligned with business goals.
  • Demonstrates structured, efficient work processes and methods.
  • Uses sound judgment, manages risk and anticipates impact on overall business.
  • Accomplishes own tasks whilst in support of corporate goals.

  • Knowledge and experience of business development in the Logistics Industry at large
  • Knowledge and experience of all modes of transportation within South Africa and neighboring countries is advantageous
  • New Business Development, Account Management, Selling, Cross-Selling, Persuasion, Customer Value Proposition, Value Added Services, Sales Proposals, Contract Negotiation, Sales Forecasting, Revenue Growth, Change Management, CRM, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Sales Channels, Salesforce, DPDHL Business Knowledge, Business Processes, Business Strategy, Market Research, Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Influencing, Feedback, Presentation & Storytelling
  • Driving volume growth across all RFR products in close coordination with RFR Country management and Country product heads.
  • Achieve minimum 5 new and / or growth business face 2 face calls per week and recorded in Sales 360
  • Together with Regional Trade Management, drive the focus on trade lanes and countries as per Trade Lane growth plan.
  • Lead RFR pricing activities and ensure pricing efficiency and competitiveness for all road freight related sub-products. Ensure four-eye principle is followed.
  • Drives automation within the Tender management set up
  • Overseeing all large tenders running through the RCC specialists as part of the global RFQ process and ensure efficient execution with all stakeholders, where applicable.
  • 5 - 8 years within the transport, logistics or freight forwarding industry (or similar service industry).
  • Experience in business development in the industry with a proven record essential
