Bookkeeper
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team at OneDome. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with at least 3 years of bookkeeping experience, strong attention to detail, and expertise in bookkeeping software such as Xero. As part of a fast‑paced scale‑up, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Financial Records
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
- Process and reconcile bank transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing, expense tracking, and payments.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and categorized.
Month‑End and Year‑End Processes
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support the Finance Manager with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
Payroll & VAT Compliance
- Process payroll and ensure accurate recording of salaries, benefits, and deductions.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Maintain compliance with tax requirements and support tax filings where needed.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Generate financial reports to provide insights into business performance.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by maintaining financial data accuracy.
- Assist in preparing reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
Software & Process Management
- Utilize bookkeeping software such as Xero and other relevant tools to streamline financial processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement in financial operations.
- Ensure best practices are followed in financial record‑keeping and reporting.
Person Specification
- Experienced: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping, preferably in a fast‑growing company or scale‑up environment.
- Tech‑Savvy: Proficiency in Xero is essential; experience with other bookkeeping and accounting software is a plus.
- Detail‑Oriented: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple financial tasks accurately.
- Organized & Reliable: Able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
