Qualifications

• 1+ years of production blasting experience in mining, preferably underground.

• 2+ years of field operational blast crew experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the WebGen Specialist in ongoing service contracts.
• Manage risk through the WebGen Supervisory Service.
• Ensure QA/QC measures for loading and blasting operations.
• Supervise the loading of WebGen primers into blast holes.
• Directly supervise firing of WebGen blasts.
• Manage WebGen firing equipment and secure firing keys.
• Communicate with customers and internally through the WebGen Specialist.
• Design blasts and manage data for WebGen.
• Ensure high reliability of the WebGen system.
• Measure Key Performance Indicators in the field.
• Contribute improvement ideas for WebGen operations.
• Manage daily safety performance on site.
• Report any quality issues to the WebGen Specialist.

Job description

This role is critical to market penetration of WebGen through successful provision of ongoing services at customers sites. The role is accountable for managing the safe, effective, and reliable implementation of WebGen Service which includes Risk Management, Customer and Internal Communication, Forecasting & Inventory management, Data Management, Supervision of loading and firing of the blasts, Troubleshooting and Equipment Maintenance, Progress and KPI reporting and customer relationship management.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Supporting the WebGen Specialist in ongoing WebGen service contract.
• Risk Management through the provision of the WebGen Supervisory Service
• Adhering to all risk management processes (RA/Inductions/MHM) are undertaken for WebGen including for any variations in design or implementation.
• Ensuring QA/QC measures for loading and blasting operations are to standard, communicated to the customer and are recorded.
• Encoding of the WebGen primers and ensuring through direct supervision that the correct WebGen primer is loaded into its correct blast hole.
• Direct supervision for firing of WebGen blasts ensuring correct firing procedures including customer sign-off of correct blast files are followed.
• Management of WebGen firing equipment including turning on and off and securing of firing keys.
• Responsible for Customer and Internal Communications through the WebGen Specialist.
• Blast Design and Data Management for use of WebGen
• Support WebGen Specialist and the customers D&B Engineering department with blast designs relating to the use of WebGen.
• Data management and control for blast design, logged and fired are uploaded and stored as per the customers and Oricas WebGen blasting procedures.
  Troubleshooting and Equipment Maintenance
• Ensuring high levels of reliability of the WebGen system the role will be responsible for identifying and rectifying issues including the management of maintenance of the firing equipment in consultation with the WebGen Specialist.
• Progress and KPI Measurement
• In Field measurement of Key Performance Indicators that support the business case for the use of WebGen.
• Improvement ideas for the in field WebGen Operations via the WebGen Specialist.
• Safety Performance Daily safety management (Take 5/ MHM card(s)/Pre-checks/TBT(s)).
• Zero safety incidents.
• Follows site specific safe work procedures.
• Quality performance reporting of any quality issues directly to WebGen Specialist.
• WebGen KPI field data gathering.

Qualifications and experience:

• Production Blasting Experience in mining (preferred underground) 1+ years.
