Assistant Room Service Manager (In‑Room Dining)

The President Hotel offers exceptional guest service that extends beyond our restaurants and public spaces. Our In‑Room Dining operation plays a vital role in delivering seamless, personalised dining experiences to guests in the comfort of their rooms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and assist in overseeing all In‑Room Dining operations, including 24‑hour room service delivery, order taking, coordination, and dispatch.
- Tray and trolley setup, presentation and collection.
- Operational Leadership: Assist in supervising the In‑Room Dining team during shifts, ensuring service standards align with the hotel’s luxury positioning, supporting staff scheduling, attendance and shift allocation, conducting pre‑shift briefings, and ensuring correct setup, cleanliness and closing procedures.
- Service Quality & Guest Experience: Maintain high standards of food presentation, accuracy and delivery times; be a visible and hands‑on presence during service periods; handle guest feedback and service recovery professionally; liaise closely with Kitchen and Front Office for seamless service delivery.
- Controls & Administration: Monitor stock usage, linen and equipment; assist with stock counts, wastage control and breakage reporting; ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and liquor regulations; complete daily checklists, reports and operational handovers.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification; relevant hospitality or food beverage qualification advantageous.
- Minimum 2–4 years experience in In‑Room Dining or Food Beverage operations within a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel.
- Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role preferred.
- Strong operational understanding of room service procedures; knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and liquor legislation.
- Computer literate, including POS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
