Job Purpose

Support the formulation of communication strategy and the annual communication plan, and conceptualise, plan, implement and monitor the assigned Business Unit / Segment / Product / Brand Property's internal and / or external communications programmes with the objective of influencing the perceptions of targeted stakeholders and enhancing the relevant unit's and Nedbank's image and reputation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze and report on all aspects of communications coverage and impact.
  • Manage budgets in line with implementation plans.
  • Meet relevant communications guidelines to fulfil Nedbank brand and trademark policy.
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of the business context to ensure credible and effective internal and external communication with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with essential internal and external collaborators and intermediaries in the communications value chain.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders that promote the brand / CVP / EVP / product / service in support of the communications, marketing and business strategies and objectives.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote the communications objectives and enable the Nedbank voice in the marketplace.
  • Develop communications strategies across the spectrum of communications disciplines including reputation management, media, public relations, internal communications, brand marketing, advertising, marketing, digital, social media and new media and production of materials.
  • Apply integrated communications by using relevant channels to enhance the communications mix and drive value.
  • Provide advice, inputs and recommendations on business strategies, marketing initiatives and plans and campaigns.
  • Understand Business Unit strategy, marketing strategy, customer value propositions, products and services, employee value proposition.
  • Implement approved communications plan and the Business Unit profile and image internally and externally by: Creating internal and external communications content; Managing and monitoring media and current affairs developments; Producing and promoting communication materials.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the Nedbank Way.
Essential Qualifications
  • NQF Level Advanced Diplomas / National 1st Degrees.
  • Preferred Qualification: Degree / Diploma in Communications / Public Relations / Journalism.
  • Essential Certifications.
  • Preferred Certifications.
  • Minimum Experience Level: Three or more years as a communications assistant or communications co-ordinator within the Financial Services / Asset Management Industry.
