Our client is seeking an Africa Sales Manager (Building Supplies) to join them in Pretoria, Gauteng. Note that this is an international sales position. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to penetrate the SADC market effectively, focusing on company products.
  • Identify and evaluate potential markets, customers, and opportunities within the SADC region.
  • Build routes to market from scratch, establishing distribution channels and partnerships to ensure market coverage and penetration.
  • Conduct market research to understand local trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
  • Travel extensively within the SADC countries to meet with potential clients, negotiate contracts, and build long‑lasting relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient order processing, logistics, and delivery of products to customers.
  • Manage and oversee export agents, providing support, guidance, and training as needed.
  • Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and prepare regular reports for management review.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and market dynamics affecting the SADC region.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is favourable.
  • 5-10 years of proven experience in sales, specifically within the SADC countries.
  • Demonstrated success in building routes to market and expanding business from scratch within the SADC region.
  • Existing relationships and an established sales network within the SADC countries are highly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the SADC region.
  • Familiarity with export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade practices.
