Accounting & Tax Coordinator — Accountant

Minimum Requirements
  • Completed B Comm (Accounting) Honours plus Articles as a minimum.
  • Taxation Diploma/qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 4-5 years experience on the preparation of Financial statements, Audit packs, and financial analysis.
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in taxation calculations. Advanced knowledge of prescribed rates, laws, and taxation regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of VAT and PAYE, Preparation and submission of company tax and VAT returns.
  • Handle periodic tax computations and payments, conduct tax research
  • Management of full taxation function for the company, attending to queries and audits.
  • Advanced knowledge of finance, accounting, and tax regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Having worked as a team leader would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Meet agreed goals with Business Unit Management.
  • Prepare monthly, interim, and year-end financial reports, including Balance Sheets and income statements.
  • Maintain financial controls, ensuring the accuracy of transactions and Trial Balance.
  • Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate General Ledger and fixed asset registers.
  • Handle VAT and tax calculations, reconciliations, and submissions, ensuring compliance with SARS and statutory requirements.
  • Manage and update financial policies, staying current with changes in accounting and auditing standards.
  • Compilation and review of financial policies, experience with Transfer Pricing, IFRS16
  • Oversee SARS E-filing and liaise with SARS officials, ensuring timely tax payments and submissions.
  • Support audit processes, prepare audit packs, and ensure compliance with IFRS Standards.
  • Mentor team members and assist with weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring all reports meet deadlines.
