Accountant - East London, Eastern Cape

We are seeking an Accountant for a permanent role (mornings only) based in East London, Eastern Cape.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, with 5+ years related work experience
  • Must be computer literate on Pastel Partner and Payroll 50 as well as MS Office (Excel)
  • Strong communication skills and able to adhere to deadlines
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of tax planning (PAYE / Prov Tax)
  • Strong organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Valid drivers and own transport recommended
  • Working hours: 8am – 2pm, Monday - Friday
  • Experience in the engineering / building type industry would be ideal

  • Transaction Processing for four branches and related entities
  • Invoicing
  • Reconcile & submit VAT from Pastel - All Entities
  • Reconciliations
  • Journal Processing
  • Prepare financial reporting for Partners meetings

  • Payroll Processing: Salaries, EMP 201, EMP501, HR reports for Partners Meetings
  • Tax Planning advice (PAYE/Prov Tax)
  • WSP Requirements & Payroll Processing
  • Handle all accounting related queries
