Accountant (JB5647) – Germiston, Gauteng

R 40 – 50 000 CTC per month • Fixed Term Contract

Seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant with 5+ years’ experience to join a busy office in Germiston. This role is central to managing transactions, reconciliations, VAT, and preparing accurate financial reports that support decision-making. You will work closely with management and external accountants to ensure compliance and maintain financial efficiency in a growing business.

Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting (essential).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a full function accounting role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Pastel Partner (non-negotiable).
  • Strong financial reporting, reconciliations, VAT, and cashflow management skills.
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange contracts.
  • Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
  • Clear communicator, confident liaising with management, clients, and external accountants.
  • Familiarity with South African accounting standards and statutory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Transaction & Cashflow Management: Capture daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, payments); Maintain updated cashflow forecasts and manage cashflow; Manage accounts payable/receivable, invoices, vendor bills, and overdue accounts; Oversee foreign exchange contracts.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Prepare monthly VAT returns; Complete regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies; Produce monthly/quarterly Management Accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet); Provide performance reports against budget and highlight financial trends; Maintain organized financial records for audits and tax purposes; Support external accountants with audit and tax submissions.
