Our client is seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join their executive team in Johannesburg.
This senior role carries responsibility for financial management, compliance, and strategic oversight across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making at executive level.
Package & Benefits

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Oversight
- Lead the finance function across all divisions and entities.
- Review and sign off on management accounts and financial reports.
- Provide strategic financial input to executive management.
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review monthly management reports, accounts, and draft Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
- Ensure compliance with IFRS / IFRS for SMEs.
- Oversee audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Taxation
- Manage tax compliance (VAT, Income Tax, Provisional Tax).
- Liaise with SARS and external tax consultants.
- Drive tax planning and risk management.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control
- Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and corrective reporting.
- Lead financial modelling and cash flow forecasting.
Governance, Controls & Systems
- Design and implement financial controls and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and quality systems.
- Oversee inter-company transactions and allocations.
Projects & Ad-Hoc
- Provide financial oversight of projects, including cost tracking and profitability analysis.
- Conduct contract reviews and risk assessments.
- Handle ad-hoc strategic financial tasks.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CIMA registration advantageous).
- 3–4 years’ experience, ideally in manufacturing or project-based environments.
- Must have proven experience with Sage 200 or Sage Evolution ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and business acumen.
- Solid knowledge of South African tax legislation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
