Job description

Position Summary:
The 3rd Officer Deck is a key member of the ships Navigation Team, responsible for assisting in the safe operation, navigation, and compliance of the vessel. This role ensures smooth daily operations, supports safety protocols, and upholds the highest maritime standards while at sea.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the safe navigation of the vessel and perform regular bridge watch duties.
  • Monitor radar, navigation equipment, and communication systems to ensure compliance and safe passage.
  • Oversee and maintain safety equipment, including lifeboats, fire-fighting systems, and emergency gear.
  • Support deck operations such as mooring, unmooring, and anchoring procedures.
  • Conduct safety drills and participate in emergency response activities.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, and logs in accordance with maritime regulations.
  • Inspect deck areas to ensure operational readiness, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior deck crew when required.
Qualifications:
  • Valid STCW certificates and endorsements for Officer of the Watch (OOW).
  • Previous experience onboard in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of navigation, safety procedures, and maritime regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a structured, disciplined environment.
