Job Description:
People supervision
· Provide hands-on coaching and supervision to relevant accounting staff assigned to the entity/entities.
Accounting and reporting
· Own the process of preparing accounts for the assigned entities, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and instructions from the region or group.
· Manage accounting areas related to entity reporting, including impairment reviews, revenue recognition, leaving indemnities, and asset physical counts.
· Act as the key contact with external and internal auditors during planning, execution, and completion of audits for the assigned entities.
· Perform hands-on accounting tasks and month-end closing activities, reviewing revenue and costs/overheads for completeness and accuracy.
· Conduct monthly comprehensive on- and off-balance sheet risk reviews and account reconciliations, taking immediate actions to address risks and ensure fair presentation of balance sheet items.
Compliances and controls
· Ensure timely filing and prompt resolution of issues related to filing deadlines for the entities.
· Collate and review monthly and year-end reconciliations of local entity statutory results to group reporting, documenting and approving differences as appropriate.
· Implement and ensure compliance with standard processes and controls, including purchase-to-pay, order-to-collection, and month-end procedures.
· Own compliance with group policies, procedures, and deadlines.
Cash and Taxation
· Oversee proper tax compliance and filing for both direct and indirect taxes in the assigned entities.
· Collaborate closely with HR/payroll on personal income tax liabilities and exposures.
· Diligently follow up on cash collections by providing timely information and engaging with local commercial and operations teams, highlighting issues and actions promptly.
Other
· Support the budgeting process.
· Participate in other group and regional initiatives.
· Prepare and report budgets, forecasts, and management reports; analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Job Requirements:
Technical
· Qualified as an ACCA, CPA, or CA, preferably with audit experience.
· Proven operational finance experience in a contracting business within a multinational and multicurrency environment.
· Up-to-date IFRS knowledge with practical application in business scenarios.
· IT savvy with hands-on experience with ERP systems is essential.
· Experience with monthly reporting and consolidation is advantageous.
