Charterhouse is working with a leading international law firm who are looking to hire a TMT Associate (Mid-Senior Level) to join its TMT practice in Riyadh. The team advises on a wide range of technology, outsourcing, and data-related matters across the Middle East, working with leading global innovators and fast-growing disruptors.
The practice is at the forefront of digital transformation, tech procurement, cloud, outsourcing as well as data governance, and cybersecurity. Often in regulated sectors like financial services, healthcare, and life sciences. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact matters with an experienced partner team, guiding clients through complex regulatory and commercial challenges in the tech and digital space.
The TMT Associate involves advising clients on a full range of technology, outsourcing, and digital transformation transactions, including SaaS, licensing, and services arrangements. It also supports multinational and regional clients on data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity compliance, with a focus on including the implementation implementing of regional data transfer frameworks.
Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex ICT, telecoms, and digital infrastructure agreements to ensuring ensure alignment with regulatory and commercial objectives. The role further requires providing advice on emerging technologies such as AI, fintech, healthtech, and cloud computing, and helps clients managing associated risks. The Associate will work closely with clients in regulated industries, offering practical, risk-based advice that balances innovation and compliance. Collaboration with other practice areas including corporate, regulatory, and dispute resolution teams, on cross-disciplinary projects. In addition, the role involves contributing to client training, thought leadership, and internal know-how initiatives on developments in data, technology, and regulation.
The successful candidate must have 3-7 PQE with strong experience in technology, commercial and data protection law, ideally gained at an international law firm. Candidates should have experience advising on outsourcing, tech procurement, and digital transformation. Knowledge of data protection, cybersecurity, and Middle East regulatory frameworks is a plus.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills are essential, along with a commercial and solutions-oriented approach. Strong communication and client-facing skills are essential, with confidence in working with multinational clients. An interest in emerging technologies and the evolving digital regulatory landscape is highly valued.
A common law qualification (e.g., England & Wales) is preferred, though additional regional or international qualifications are also welcome. Prior experience in the Middle East is desirable, or a genuine motivation to relocate to Riyadh and work on high-profile regional mandates. Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage, but not essential.
