Job Description Summary

HPE, a global leader in Data Services and Storage, is expanding their Storage Portfolio and is looking for a Presales Architect experienced in unstructured data solutions. The successful candidate will engage with customers, partners and colleagues to create solutions addressing unstructured data needs, help identify opportunities, and develop compelling, accurate proposals that meet business and technical requirements. Provide technical expertise to sales teams and customers through presentations, product/solution demonstrations, etc., aiming to gain customer mindshare in this domain. Roles may be aligned to specific accounts based on priority.

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge of the unstructured data market and HPE portfolio, articulating proposals and ensuring the customer's business and technical needs are met.
• Tracks industry trends and emerging technologies (including competitor offerings) and applies this knowledge to the customer’s technical environment.
• Contributes to industry developments through content support, presentations, demos, booth support at conferences and events, and social media.
• Designs storage solutions aligned to the customer’s business requirements and technical environment.
• Participates in deep-dive discussions, articulates value propositions, defines differentiators, and drafts high-level solution designs.
• Delivers optimal results balancing costs, scope, and benefits to deliver value.
• Participates in the account’s business planning processes.
• Collaborates with account team leadership (HPE and Partners) to develop value propositions, negotiation points, and identify opportunities within assigned accounts.
• Proactively contributes to building pipeline by identifying opportunities (enhancements, unmet needs, up-selling, cross-selling) within the territory.
• Documents ongoing work throughout the sales cycle using relevant tools and shares best practices with peers and partners.
• Develops and nurtures professional relationships with customer technical teams and executives, understanding the customer ecosystem and how HPE delivers value.
• Proactively shares knowledge with peers and helps develop junior team members.

Education and Experience

• First-level university technical degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
• Technical experience in IT with a focus on unstructured data (file and object) solutions.
• 3–5 years of experience in file and object technologies.
• Knowledge-based and experience-based relevant industry certifications are strongly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of identifying and exploiting unstructured data opportunities.
• Consultative and value-selling skills, including whiteboarding, customer demonstrations, objection handling, and closing skills.
• Understanding of the indirect selling model, including direct and joint engagement with partners.
• Effective communication, active listening, and storytelling to support discussions and influence decisions, while respectfully challenging positions.
• Business and financial acumen—sales cycle, pipeline growth, reporting, and ability to influence; understanding customer business roles.
