ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Manager – Business Development is responsible for driving the expansion and growth of the Retail Discount business in Saudi Arabia by identifying, evaluating, and delivering new store opportunities, partnerships, and market entry initiatives. The role ensures alignment with Majid Al Futtaim Retail’s long‑term growth strategy and Vision 2030 objectives, managing end‑to‑end business development activities from feasibility analysis through execution.
ROLE PROFILE
- Identify and evaluate new opportunities for retail discount expansion across Saudi, including new stores, acquisitions, and partnerships.
- Conduct feasibility studies, financial modeling, and due diligence for potential projects to ensure strategic alignment and profitability.
- Build and manage relationships with landlords, developers, government bodies, and regulatory authorities to support expansion initiatives.
- Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and agreements to secure favorable outcomes for the organization.
- Oversee end-to-end execution of business development projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Track competitor activity, market trends, and customer demographics to provide insights and optimize site selection strategies.
- Monitor ROI and performance of new stores, report variances, and recommend corrective measures to achieve financial targets.
- Mentor and develop junior team members while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in Strategy or Finance is preferred.
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in business development, real estate, or expansion within retail/FMCG.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the Saudi market with a strong understanding of retail property development.
- Proven track record of managing negotiations and delivering successful retail expansion projects.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and commercial skills with the ability to build robust business cases.
